About the Department
B.Com. was established with 40 students and 2 faculty members in 1994 and an Additional Section for B.Com was started in 1997.B.Com (Computer Application) was introduced in 2001 and B.Com (CA) additional section was started in 2007 and M.Com (Computer Application) was Started in 2002 and it was converted into M.Com in the year 2014.M.Phil in Commerce (FT/PT) was introduced in 2005
The department of commerce was promoted as Research leading to Ph.D in commerce in 2013.
CPT Coaching for Charted Accountant programme was started in 2014 and 4 students cleared CPT in 2016.Full-time faculty strength is 23 and visiting faculty is 3.Faculty members with Ph.D qualification is 10 and NET/SET cleared are 6.Our department have completed 5 minor Research projects (Funded by UGC and we have 2 ongoing minor Research Project. Funded Seminar organized (ICSSR&NABARD) was 4.

About the Department
The Department of Computer Science was established in the year 1994. Our department is the cyber house of innovation and updates the unexplored areas in IT. The department offers wealth of ideas which quenches the thirst of learners to learn the ever developing technology. The department helps to develop a competent academic environment with a team of committed faculty members and it provides quality education to the students.
It follows structured and strategic approach to get the best from the students and convert them into class. The department provides theoretical and practical skills as per the requirements, talent and demand in the IT sector and is helpful to study latest developments.
The Computer Science Department occupies a prominent place in the annals of the academic history of the college since its inception. The faculty of the department has vast experience in academia. Besides teaching, the department is actively involved in conducting training programmes for students, apart from regular academic schedules, additional diploma courses such as Advanced C/C++, Java, Multimedia (Photoshop and Flash) are provided. It follows a structured and strategic approach to get the best from the students and convert them into class professionals. Our philosophy and methodology deviates from the traditional approach which helps the student to develop an individualistic approach in technology and problem solving. The department organizes various seminars and workshops for faculty members and students. The department has well equipped state-of-the-art computer labs and spacious classrooms which enable a healthy teaching – learning process. The Alumni of the department are well placed.

About the Department
- Department of English was established in the year 1994.
- B. A. English Literature with C.A. was started in the year 2003 & the programme was converted into B.A. English Literature in the year 2012.
- M. A. English Literature was started in the year 2006.
- M. Phil in English (FT/PT) was introduced in the year 2013. It is in progress from 2013 onwards.
- Ph.D in English (PT) was introduced in the year 2018. It is in progress from 2018 onwards.

About the Library
P.K.R Arts College for Women’s, Library is the Backbone of the institution and it acquires, processes, preserves and disseminates information to the user community with empowering knowledge. The Library was established in 1994 when college was started. In the year 1995, it was shifted to the first floor of the new permanent building. The library automation was initiated in February 2005 and the same was completed by May 2005. All the books are bar-coded in the library & barcode laser scanners are used in the circulation counter for book transactions from June 2011 onwards.Now the Library is located in the second & third floors of the new building and occupies an area of 1287.6 Sq. Mts. The library is centrally air conditioned and fitted with CCTV cameras. It has an extensive collection of books, reference materials and Institutional Repository for satisfying the academic and research needs of the students and faculty. The Library and Knowledge Centre consists a Reference Section, Circulation Section, Periodical Section and Digital Library. The library has automated all its library activities to provide effective and wide range of academic resources such as books, journals, online databases.

About the Department
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
The Department of Business Administration started its journey towards imparting a whole some management education in the year 1995. With an objective of motivating and fascinating budding managers, the department has been involved in developing student centric courses curriculum and industry based learning methodologies. The pedagogy of the BBA program consists of lectures, research projects, seminars, workshops and other student centric activities. In order to update the knowledge and have a practical exposure of the industry, the department organizes several industrial visits.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The Post-graduate management programme was started in 1997 and the same was recognized by AICTE and the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. The main objective of the MBA programme is to bring out the professional skills of the students and to keep them fit for the professional demands of the corporate. To implement these objective a conducive atmosphere is made available all the times in the campus. We use innovative and pragmatic methodologies such as live project exposure, analytical techniques in problem solving, team coordination through group seminars, industry and technology domain training. Industry experts across various fields are invited as guests to the seminars to offer training to our students. These help students to stay well informed with the happenings around the globe and are ready to be deployed in the industry as soon as they complete the course.
